I’m interviewing for Head of Content tomorrow. Give me 5 sharp questions I should ask them, plus one red-flag answer to watch for.

Questions 1) How does content influence pipeline vs brand — and how is that measured? 2) What’s the last piece that moved a metric you care about? 3) Where do writers sit relative to product and sales? 4) What’s intentionally out of scope for this role in year one? 5) How do you handle disagreements when legal and growth want different tones? Red flag: “We just need someone who can ship LinkedIn posts fast” with no mention of strategy, editing standards, or audience research.

Tighten #2 into a follow-up I can ask if they dodge metrics.

“If you had to point to one URL from the last quarter and the number it moved, what would it be?”
